SOLUTRANS 2017: a success in waiting!

With six months yet to go before its grand opening, SOLUTRANS 2017 (21 – 25 November 2017 at Lyon Eurexpo) is already shaping up to be an outstandingly successful exhibition. With a 6% increase in the total surface area booked, a 7% rise in the number of exhibitors expected compared with 2015, 28% of new exhibitors and a great many in the pipeline, the international exhibition of road and urban transport solutions offers a dynamic and optimistic outlook. More extensive, more prolific and more international: more than ever before, SOLUTRANS 2017 will be the definitive event for an entire sector, a facilitator for meetings and business, and a showcase for innovation and information. 

Exceptional mobilisation from all sectors 

As the leading European trade show for innovation, SOLUTRANS today boasts an unprecedented level of support from all market figures, among them the manufacturers of HGVs, trailersaand semi-trailers, the manufacturers of LCVs and of bodywork for heavy-duty and commercial vehicles, OEMs and specialists in aftersales and service companies. To date, the show has registered the participation of the 7 global leading manufacturers of heavy-duty vehicles (DAFIvecoMANMercedesRenault TrucksScania et Volvo), alongside the main French and European makers of trailers and semi-trailers, without forgetting leading names in LCVs (manufacturers, bodybuilders, fitters and bodywork equipment suppliers).

SOLUTRANS can already claim a 7% increase in the number of exhibitors expected compared with 2015 and is preparing to welcome 28% of new exhibitors. 

Going global

With an international exhibitor contingent accounting for 22% of the total, the show has confirmed its international scope and reach. 16 countries in total will be represented, including Germany, Belgium, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland.

Furthermore this edition will have two other specific highlights:

  • a Chinese Pavilion exhibiting at the show for the very first time,
  • a day dedicated to Sweden, an innovative country in its development of sustainable mobility.

The Greater Lyon authority has for the past two years been working closely with Sweden on the subject of city centre deliveries. This project aims to share best practice between the various industry players, aiming for organisational improvement so as to generate benefits for the environment and performance.

In this respect, on Wednesday 22 November, a delegation headed by the Swedish Minister for Infrastructure, Ms Anna Johansson, accompanied by the Swedish Ambassador to France, HE Ms Veronika Wand-Danielsson, will visit the exhibition for a special Sweden Day during which the latest developments in autonomous and connected vehicles and examples of Franco-Swedish cooperation will be presented.

Starring start-ups…

In 2017, SOLUTRANS joins the French Tech movement with the exclusive launch of a start-up village organised in partnership with ARDI, LUTB-RAAC and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes regional authority. Dedicated to smart mobility and transportation, this space will host young firms promoting innovative solutions, including names such as ConvargoChronotruckDashdocNooxShippeo, Truckfly.

En 2017, SOLUTRANS rejoint le mouvement de la French Tech en lançant, pour la première fois, un village des startups organisé en partenariat avec l'ARDI, le LUTB-RAAC et la région Auvergne Rhône-Alpes. Dédié à la mobilité et au transport intelligent, cet espace accueillera des jeunes entreprises présentant des solutions innovantes, telles que Convargo, Chronotruck, Dashdoc, Noox, Shippeo, Truckfly…
