  • PLENARY - The energy transition -we are all involved!

What is now on the table is not to figure out when we will be able to produce zero-emission commercial and heavy goods vehicles, but how and at what price. The European Union has imposed strict CO2 emissions targets for industrial vehicles in the next ten years. It is a great challenge. All players in the sector as well as politicians must contribute towards these targets. To help manufacturers and transporters achieve these targets, the French Bodywork Federation (FFC) has launched a genuine measuring tool, VISION'AIR, which will be presented during this plenary meeting.

  • OPENING CONFERENCE- Hydrogen: What does the future hold for the HGV sector?

Industrial vehicle manufacturers are betting on carbon-free hydrogen in the next two to five years as a solution for the future. The French government's recovery plan has devoted 7.2 billion euros to hydrogen over the next ten years. The commercial vehicle industry intends to seize this opportunity to design, produce and market fuel cell trucks. The other players in what is defined as a hydrogen industry in France and Europe will also have to participate, in particular to set up an adequate refuelling network.

  • A century innovation in heavy vehicles

Although the first truck ever imagined left the factory in 1898, it wasn't until the 1920s that a vehicle resembling today's HGV appeared. Four truck and industrial vehicle industry specialists will retrace 100 years of truck technology in its various aspects: equipment, engine (fuel), comfort and safety. This will be an opportunity to look back at the major developments of the HGV industry in the last century.

  • Alternative solutions: how to achieve CO2 objectives

Brussels is imposing a huge challenge on the HGV industry to exclusively produce zero-emission vehicles by 2030. Industrial vehicle manufacturers are committed to this challenge. We will evaluate the various scenarios put in place by industrial vehicle manufacturers and analyse their impact on the production, marketing and operation of non-thermal vehicles.

  • Artificial intelligence (AI) applied to heavy goods vehicles - Part 1. The age of digitalisation

The Internet of Things (IoT) and connectivity have invaded not only the automotive industry but also the utility, HGV and trailer industry. In the age of digitalisation, in the presence of international experts and manufacturers, we will be presenting what currently exists on the market in terms of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the HGV industry, which is just as advanced on this topic as the automobile industry.

Manufacturers have had to rethink the very design of commercial vehicles, mainly medium-duty vehicles. But how do cities and urban mobility stakeholders fit them in?

  • Artificial intelligence (AI) applied to heavy goods vehicles - Part 2. Data protection

Anyone who uses a tablet, a smartphone or even a simple computer questions the security of their data. Even more so in the commercial vehicle industry and in road transport. In addition to the value of the vehicle, the value of the goods being transported is also of concern. New tools are now available to secure data and content.

  • HGV maintenance: a complete revolution

The arrival of predictive systems is giving way to a significant development in the maintenance and repair of industrial vehicles. Commercial and heavy goods vehicles are less present in workshops.   • Artificial intelligence (AI) applied to heavy goods vehicles - Part 3. Infrastructure and the role of 5G

Today, only smart HGVs transmit and receive data. The nature of the data is evolving; soon, it will apply to not only the comfort and safety components of the vehicle but also to its itinerary. 5G will soon play a crucial role in autonomous - or at least automated - trucks. In addition to private use, a distribution network dedicated to transport is being set up.

  • HGV drivers, how are you doing?

Despite significant progress in recent years (cab comfort, development of passive and active safety), road transport driver is probably today one of the professions most exposed to occupational risks (on the road, during handling, musculoskeletal and psychosocial disorders). This conference will bring together the various players on this issue. Several topics will be addressed: an assessment of the state of health of HGV drivers, solutions to remedy the situation, prevention of occupational risks, disability in road transport. The idea is to offer constructive insight to road professionals exposed to high stress.
