Awarded for the first time this year, the title of Industry Personality of the Year recognises the vision of a man or a woman and their corporate strategy in the context of the huge challenges awaiting the Industrial and Commercial Vehicle sector. During the several rounds of discussions leading to the vote, the judging panel comprising all of the journalists from the trade press and chaired by Eric Poyeton, the chief executive of PFA, under the patronage of Patrick Cholton, the chairman of FFC and SOLUTRANS, highlighted the performances of the Michelin group, and in particular its vision of the future focussing on new technologies. These subjects are close to the concerns of FFC and the entire sector.
Remaining true to its support missions, the FFC will present this award at the SOLUTRANS gala evening on 22 November. This event will bring together more than 1,200 guests and will also host the prize giving ceremonies of the International Van of the Year, Truck of the Year and Pick Up Awards.
Following the final vote, the judging panel was unanimous in its praise of the actions of Jean-Dominique Senard who has enabled his company to make outstanding contributions over the past few years in the field of alternative energy, improving its products' performance, and in research and innovation. The panel in particular singled out the event Movin'On by Michelin, formerly known as Challenge Bibendum, which constitutes an immersion in the world of mobility through talks, technology demonstrations, collaborative experiences, working sessions, meetings, etc.
Without forgetting Urbalad, Michelin's new RDI campus (Research Development, Industrialisation) inaugurated at the Ladoux technology centre last November in Clermont-Ferrand, which brings to life the firm's commitments to the future.
